Having Trouble with your Carpets?

There are solutions for carpet moths, curling carpet ends and moving carpets! Also some general tips for cleaning your dirty carpets.

Here's a few tips if you have trouble with your carpets:

• Before laying a new carpet, wash your floor with turpentine. Let it dry. It will keep silver carpet moths away forever.

• English salt also works

• Glue sponge rubber on the edges of your carpet to keep it from moving

• Curling carpet ends can be flattened by laying a wet towel on such ends overnight

• Place plastic bags underneath your furniture while cleaning your carpet with liquids

• Bleach scorch marks on your carpet with bicarbonate of soda, works great if dried in the sun.

• To enhance the colour of your carpet, rub it with a mixture of 500ml water, 25ml vinegar, and 25ml coarse salt. Or sprinkle it with salt, leaving overnight. Vacume the next day. 4 parts water mixed with 1 part turpentine also works wonders. Rub this solution onto your carpet with a clean cloth.
